Fendrich 6/3/05

Laurie Fendrich wrote an article on 6/3(The Chronicle Review {Hofstra Univ,} ) in reference to the state of art ed.
I have not finished reading it, but, so far she seems to describing the state
of art education (college) today , some contrast with yesteryear.

It raises the question: "What is the university's responsibility to the art world and to
the individual artist?"

Dr. Bill Otton, director of the Art Museum of South Texas, and I have had this conversation.
Several years ago we came to the conclusion that the students art began looking like the
professors art, thus, concluding that most instructors are using the classroom as a springboard
for their own art instead of providing useful info. and a creative atmosphere.
